Dolphin Watching & Ria Formosa Islands
If you want to see wild dolphins the Ecomarine Algarve knows where to find them. Our dolphin watching trips are accompanied by a specialized local guide who will identify different species and interpret the behavior of the dolphins, making your trip an unforgettable experience.
Before departure we will have a small breafing about the route and the species we will able to see. The coastal waters of the Ria Formosa in the Faro area are natural habitat of several species of Dolphins. Inand addition to the most common species such as Bottlenose Dolphin, Common Dolphin and Striped Dolphin, you have the opportunity to observe other forms of Marine Life, such as some Northern Gannet, Shearwaters, Northern sea Petrel sea birds and some species of fish Sunfish, Flying Fish, Marlins and Blue Fin Tuna.
THE ISLANDS
1st Stop – Desert Island about 1h30, can swim in clear waters or explore the island
2nd stop – Praia do Farol about 1h30, can enjoy the village typic houses, beautiful beaches, lunch in a typical restaurant fresh fish and seafood.

Advice: Don´t forget to take a pill for sea sickness if you aren’t use to sailing. Bring a coat as the temperature at sea is always lower than on land. This activity depends on the sea conditions, always try to book in advance.
Although the boat is equipped with a sun shade, always bring sunscreen, hat and mineral water.
